There is country called North Korea who like Abhimanyun (Take
away the religious part of his character) of Mahabharta has all alone
forced major super power of our times, America, Japan & S Korea to
dance on its tune. All sorts of unilateral and multilateral sanctions
couldn't create any deterrence for N Korea , a Lilliputian country
literally speaking who can't afford food for its citizen (most of the
time N Korea negotiate with America for not conducing any nuclear test
in exchange with food packages).
There is another country
called Syria who is fighting with western powers to save its country
from going into the hand of an American puppet.
Who can forget
the name of Israel a country which didn't allow Palestine to become a
country till the date (which is a very genuine demand of Palestinians).
There
are many other examples including Vietnam war which inflicted an
unrepairable damage on American stature as a super power.
Now consider super powers.
America
fought Afghanistan war just after a single terrorist attack (9/11). I
am not talking about the intensity of attack. America destroyed Iraq
based on the fabricated accusation of Iraq possessing chemical weapons,
which could never be recovered. NATO countries under leadership of
America ended Muammar Gaddafi's regime in Libya.
America
entered the army cantonment area of Abbotabad in Pakistan and killed
Osama Bin Laden and didn't let Pakistani army or ISI even smell about
this. The same ISI which has patronised terrorists orgaisation like
lashkar-e-Taiba, which has taken hundreds of lives in India in last 25
years.
China has created a high pitch drama in South China
sea where it is claiming every bit of any island where ever existing in
order to extend its exclusive economic zone. All the east Asian
countries along with America couldn't create any sort deterrence for
China.
Now consider 'Super Power' India
A
couple of months back Pakistani army entered in Indian part
and decapitated two of its soldiers, the head of one of them has still
not be returned.
On April 15th a platoon of 50 army of China
intruded 19 km inside Indian territory and erected tent. Government of
India instead of going for swift action termed it as a localised issue
which can be sorted out by flag march and diplomatic talk. On
30th April it was found that five such tents have erected. In between
Indian army allowed unhindered movement of Chinese trucks for supplying
food and other logistics to Chinese army from their side. Today IBNLive
an Indian News channel quoted intelligence report that China may never
leave
Ladakh (http://ibnlive.in.com/news/chinese-troops-may-never-leave-ladakh-intelligence-officials/388795-3.html
). The article says," According to assessments by senior government and
intelligence officials China's People's Liberation Army soldiers camped
in Raki Nullah in eastern Ladakh may never go back across the Line of
Actual Control (LAC). Sources say China may have initiated the intrusion
to see how India would react on the ground. Until now India's response
has been only diplomatic even though it has been 15 days since the
Chinese soldiers simply walked over to the Indian side and set up tents.
There has been no military action by the Indian side."
A
couple of months back a small island country Maldives with a population
of just 2 lakh and GDP of $1 billion thrown out GMR, an Indian company
building and managing Male airport on a contract for 25 yrs, which it
won through proper bidding process. India couldn't do anything.
Italy
dared to say that it would not return its marine for trial in India is
again a classic example of India's misconceived aspiration of being a
super power.
Recently Afazal Guru who was the part of a group
of terrorists who hatched and executed the attack on Indian parliament
was hanged after following due process of law and when all the legal
avenues were exhausted. All sorts of hue and cry was made not only in
Pakistan, Jammu & Kashmir but also in remaining part of Indian
territory. Intellectuals like Arundhati Roy in the editorial of
a prestigious daily said Indians are blood thirsty. All limits were
breached when one of our own citizen who possess an Indian passport,
Yasin Malik, chairman of J&K Liberation front shared dais with one
of the world's most dreaded terrorist who orchestrated the 26/11 attack
on Mumbai, Hafeez Sayid. India behaved like a mute spectator.
Finally
today one of the Indian citizen, Sarabjit Singh, who had been
languishing in Pakistani jail for years and was awaiting the decision on
his mercy plea became brain dead after he was attacked by stone and
blade in the jail. This couldn't have been done without the consent of
Pakistani authorities. But India again remain a mute spectator, it
couldn't even convince Pakistan for a proper treatment of Sarabjit.
Unnecessarily
I wrote such a long article to justify that India is not at all any
sort of 'Power' forget about being a super power. Calling it a soft
power is again a silly alibi, if not then why China with whom India has a
trade deficit of $40 b could think of this misadventure. Today India
is losing grip on its neighbour one by one. China is extending its
sphere of influence on Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Maldives, Nepal, Bangladesh
& Bhutan. There is no point in talking about Sino-Pak relations.
Remind you of Hillary Clinton's statement, terming India a self
proclaimed contender for UN security council permanent membership.
Today
country is experiencing a multi-front war inside and outside. There is a
serious crisis of governance. Citizens are feeling so helpless.
Parliament is not functioning. Everyday a multi-billion scam is being
unearthed. Police is hitting at people protesting for the safety of
their daughters, sisters and mothers. What more bad are we waiting for !
Lets hope and pray for a better tomorrow.
