The New Delhi turned into a fortress amid wide protests against rape and murder of a 23 yr medical girl. Many saw it as 'Rosa parks' moment of India and it was assumed that India is going to see a new dawn if not in everything then at least in issues related to women safety. In fact much was done on ground such as fast track courts, anti-rape ordinance etc. unlike previous times when lip service (platitudes) were considered enough for pacifying the anger of disgusted mass. Some courts pronounced judgements involving incidents of similar nature in record time of 1-2 weeks. But today 4 months have passed no judgement has been given even by the lower court. The victim's parents met with UPA chairman, Rahul Gandhi even PM received the corpse of brave girl on its arrival from Singapore hospital. Parents first demanded capital punishment for all the six accused and they even sought amendment of the constitution to punish the 6th juvenile accused who had supposedly committed the most heinous part of the ordeal. One of the chief accused committed suicide inside Tihar jail. Today no one is bothered about the judgement. It was claimed that within 4-6 weeks culprits will be sent to gallows but today all of them are enjoying their life in jail to the extent that one of them demanded milk, books, tutors etc for his preparation of IAF examination. The victim's parents were given cash by state government and central government and even a flat in Delhi after Sonia Gamdhi's assurance (when they met Sonia Gandhi seeking harsh punishment for juvenile accused). One embassy sponsored the medical study of the younger brother of the victim. Government launched all women bank and Nirbhaya Fund of Rs 1000 cr. Everyone has got something but no one is bothered about the justice for Damini. She must be watching from the heaven and thanking God for He called her back from this selfish world. One can well imagine if this celebrated Damini couldn't get justice in time how could thousands of other unknown Daminis can ever dream about getting justice. Is this the true reflection of India & Indians? Was our HM Sushil Kumar Sindhe right when he said Indians have short memory ?
Since childhood, perhaps due to social surroundings & family background I used to be interested in political incidents. I always have my own view towards the things, which though at times may swing but they use to be firm, but I have always found them justified. So, I wish to categorically declare it that what ever I will write here is my personal view is not intended to hurt anyone or any organisation & it should not be used anywhere without my permission.
