Stop Crying Foul until U dare to Change It !

Sitting in a 10ft by 10ft room, wrapped in a thin Makhmali, Jaipuri quilt, TV remote in the hand, watching Arnab Goswami on Times Now or Rajdeep Sardesai on IBN Live or 5th day of India-England test series, some light hand made biscuits along with hot Nescafe Chocolate latte and in between few calls from friends and family and Facebook status update through Blackberry ( Mostly liking each other's status and photograph in b/w commenting on few posts mostly containing smileys (depicting mechanical emotions))    ..I guess these things can be obvious choice for a professional working for scheduled 9 AM- 5 PM  stretched up to 7  PM on a normal, non-traffic, non-deadline days. Choices of TV channels may vary and menu for evening snacks may depend on the number of days passed since one receives the salary..Okk, now 'Stupid' tablets have replaced 'silly' cell phones for Facebook updates..so these are little variations, rest the evening itinerary of most of us so called "Professional's" remains same as stated above..No, you are thinking about occasional parties with friends on weekends but why do you forget late nights in office on month-end and more importantly my topic of discussion is not your hectic working hours in office  !!!!

What I wish to say is that 'Is it not that the current generation has developed a sui generis lifestyle, quite monotonous, to certain extent ill-productive and less-creative, unhealthy, unsocial and most importantly boring ( Isn't it?). You don't agree, this is not because you have better planned your life, but because you have made your mind to keep yourself isolated from realities through a compromise with life which is providing you limited physical needs and in return you are not supposed to express your miseries except through occasional status change on Facebook. I am not bothered about this also, if you are happy with your life, fine I have no issues, even if you are not I can only help you see the mirror can't do your bit of cleaning face.

What I am bothered is, have you ever thought ' HOW DIFFERENT ARE YOU FROM OTHERS ?'. I know, most of you haven't done an introspection, but not an issue, start it right now. It will take few minutes of serious efforts.

I hope, by now you are finished with the self-introspection. Now, you must be knowing how different you are from your best friend and your sibling..You got it wrong, I am not talking about physical build up..I am talking about how different you think about things happening around you and how different you react towards them. What does you think and do when you see Arnab Goswami rounding politicians on corruption charges or Karan Thappar mocking Arvind Kejriwal in Devil's Advocate programme..Don't you watch these telecast for a different type of entertainment, which 24x7 news channels provide now a days or may be a smaller crowd want a gossip recipe to spend time during lunch break or in office cab and even smaller may want it for Facebook posts and miniscule crowd my take this opportunity to say 'Nothing right can happen to this country'..But most of us admire Asim Trivedi .. OUR HERO..for showing parliament as comod and constitution laying inside it and few people urinating over it..THE FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION..How can someone take away our democratic right to abuse our politicians, parliamentarians, bureaucrats and the administrative system of the country..Right !!!!!.. Everyone of us are champions of democracy and a true patriot only for abusing others and crushing the fate of this country..Now re-introspect, are not these things very ephemeral..Are most of us of this generation suffer form amnesia  or world is too dynamic to remember past.. I don't think either of these two reasons is correct, what is correct ..WE ARE NOT BOTHERED ABOUT WHAT IS HAPPENING AROUND US UNLESS SOMETHING HAPPENS TO US !!!!!

You dissent..to dissent is your prerogative but I know your view premise is unsustainable similar to our way of living !!

Okk, let me stop beating around the bush..let me go back to first paragraph. Things written in first paragraph is the part of a new developed syndrome in India's most energetic and dynamic Middle Class 'YOUTH'. It can be referred be as 'MIDDLE CLASS SYNDROME'. Let me elaborate; admission into a professional college, a beautiful and 'mindful' girlfriend or boyfriend, a good job in any MNC at the end 3, 4 or 5 yrs of college, marriage with a smart, beautiful/handsome, earning girl/boy in late 20s or early 30s, a good 2-3 BHK flat in the newly developing satellite part of metropolies, i10, i20 or even swift will work, good increment in between and finally a couple of cute babies ending up in a good college and the here starts the virtuous cycle of next generation. That's it..aren't we living a textbook life..

Do we bother about double digit inflation other than for abusing politicians and saying this party is not going to return in next election..why should I, my salary has a variable part which increases with inflation !!

You don't agree with me, let us judge ourselves  !

Q; You are 18+ ?

A: (happily agreeing) I am now adult and take my decisions myself.

Q: Congrats ! So you are eligible for exercising your right to vote. How many times have you exercised your this precious democratic right?

A: Never, who has time to do this and more importantly one vote doesn't matter.

Q: Okk. What is the thing which bothers you most in the on going recession?

A: Yeah, quite irritating is this persistent recession ! The fear of laying off has taken away my sleep..don't know if any morning, when I reach my office I see HR coming to my desk asking me to pack off and if all goes well, even  in that case my rate of increment has reduced drastically form 15% to 12%.

Q: So, only these things concerns you..How does the recession impact the nation as a whole?

A: I think any nation is made up of people like me and if citizens are troubled, obviously nation will be in trouble.

Q: So, you mean citizens first, nation latter. How have you been impacted by inflation ?

A: Things have become costlier, now I can't party with my friends on every weekend and more importantly, it is hard to save any thing, investment in share market has also become risky. Market sentiments are so low and downturn has gone so viral that market is totally unpredictable.

Q: Ok. Can you differentiate between WPI and CPI inflation index? Buzz word of the day. How differently it affect the common people?

A: Inflation in wholesale price is WPI and inflation in consumer price is CPI. I think both impact us in similar ways.

Q: So you don't know the real difference. Ok, have ever taken any bribe or paid any?

A; No, I can proudly say I have never taken any bribe (Cm'on dude, actually you never got an opportunity to take bribe ). Yeah but, situation forced me pay bribe. Like I paid to TTC for a berth against a waiting ticket, for getting the birth certificate from block in a week, for getting ahead of queue, while depositing electricity bill for I was getting late for office..so on and so forth..these were my compulsions not choice.

Q: Why did you opt to go with a waiting ticket and if it was so urgent why didn't you try for Tatkal ticket or planned your journey before time? Why didn't you leave your home earlier to deposit your electricity bill? Were not choices available, didn't you intentionally made bribing your compulsions?

A: May be I could have but why are you looking at these smaller bribes for poor and helpless people. Why are you forgetting 1.76 lakh crore 2G Scam or 1.86 lakh crore coal-gate scam.

Okk, friends, no point in extending this question-answer sessions. You would have got by now what I wanted to say. No parents wish his/her kid to become Bhagat Singh, they want Bhagat Singh to born in neighbour's house and Mukesh Ambani in their house. We give the name of compulsions to our ill conceived choices. All of us want reformation, change in the system,  but wish it to start from neighbour's house. Our generation is self-centered. All our activities, thoughts and apprehensions revolve around self. We bother inflation for it hurts our parties, we bother about recession for it hurts our perks, we bother about corruption when our personal work get hampered.

Now let me highlight what I mean to say when I asked you to introspect yourself. I talked about middle class syndrome, aren't our life revolving around the viscous cycle of this syndrome. A typical life, which all of us is leading, least bothering about anything which doesn't concern  us directly. Actually this mentality has cultivated for the reason we think I singly can't turn the rocks upside down. I do agree everyone can't afford to become Mahatam Gandhi or Bhagat Singh but at least we can try to follow their footprint on the personal scale, I know even that is difficult for most of us but at least we can start by doing things which are easily doable with little bit of tweaking. And remember ' Little drops of water and little grains of sand, make great ocean, make a great land'. Every big journey starts from a small step. Starting from a local level, together we can build a better nation, not by just abusing and crushing.

Most of us believe that politicians and then bureaucrats are the root cause of all sorts of evils. Lets look at these figures:

According to 2011 census, 1.21 billion population and total number of occupied census house 306,162,799

Number of MPs in Loksabha -                                                                                    545
Number of MPs in Rajyasabha-                                                                                  245
Number of MLAs in all states-                                                                                    2893
Number of MLCs in different states                                                                             481
Number of members in Panchyati Raj Institutions                                                       2818290
Number of Central Govt. Employees + PSUs + State Govt                                      20000000 (approx)

So around 2822454 politicians at all three level of governance and 2 crore government employees , adding together 22822454 people can be held responsible for the miseries of India according to general perception. Now please compare this number with total census houses. Almost one member of one in every 15 family (assuming there is only one employee in a family) is responsible for all the ill-fate of India. That means if everyone of us resolve to sanitize 15 family around us, things can improve. Another important lesson is that corrupt people are, persons not only among us but also very near to us, we can easily map them and either convince them or force them to mend their ways. Another good lesson is less than 2 percent people are holding our progress, can't we overcome them.

I would like to conclude, since we have accepted the evils spreaded in our nation in our awareness, hence we just cry foul even for the things where a little effort can bring dramatic change. Updating Facebook Status or abusing politicians may provide a ephemeral pleasure, but this is not a panacea..Peep beneath yourself you would find a Bhagat Singh in yourself capable enough to bring salvation to nation..

Help yourself..You need India more than India needs you..So let the country come first. Stop Complaining until we dare Change the thing.

You can create the difference. Be the change you want to see !

Hail India for embracing this HISTORIC MOMENT !!

Nation has witnessed a historic moment, in fact in the night of 8th Nov India had its tryst with the destiny. But sad some persons are trying to fool the nation and some arm chair intellectuals are professing the doomsday for the historic leadership. They are living in a fool’s paradise. They are disconnected individuals figh ting their last battle to save their bastion. Let me first talk about the goodness of this move: 1.       Check on the Terror Funding 2.       Check on Counterfeit Currency 3.       Check on the Inflation 4.       Check on the Spiralling Real-estate Pricing 5.       Check on the illegal Political Funding 6.       Check on the Rent-seeking Bureaucracy  7.       Check on the Crime Money 8.       Check on the Bribe Giving 9.   ...

Declaration

Since childhood, perhaps due to social surroundings & family background I used to be interested in political incidents. I always have my own view towards the things, which though at times may swing but they use to be firm, but I have always found them justified. So, I wish to categorically declare it that what ever I will write here is my personal view is not intended to hurt anyone or any organisation & it should not be used anywhere without my permission.
