I can count well with little bit of knowledge I have acquired in last 20 yrs, even those who don't know counting can easily say they don’t need to employ their fingers to count the benefits they have gained out of their caste affiliation. If you talk about the social stratification in the existing Indian society I belong to the so called highest caste i.e ‘Brahmins’. If I seldom sit and start thinking about the advantages of this association, I could find none. In fact at times I get embarrassed when I am being told or taught about the outrages committed by higher castes on the lower castes [ I carry the same lineage !!!!! ]..Believe me, at times I wish I could relieve myself from this affiliation but not everyone is lucky. And yes it is also an accepted truth that none of the caste today showcases a uniform social behaviour or professes a common occupation. There is country called North Korea who like Abhimanyun (Take away the religious part of his character) of Mahabharta has all alone forced major super power of our times, America, Japan &  S Korea to dance on its tune. All sorts of unilateral and multilateral sanctions couldn't create any deterrence for N Korea , a Lilliputian country literally speaking who can't afford food for its citizen (most of the time N Korea negotiate with America for not conducing any nuclear test in exchange with food packages). There is another country called Syria who is fighting with western powers to save its country from going into the hand of an American puppet. Who can forget the name of Israel a country which didn't allow Palestine to become a country till the date (which is a very genuine demand of Palestinians).  There are many other examples including Vietnam war which inflicted an unrepairable damage on  American stature as a super power. Today on way back from Hauzkash to Karolbagh at 11pm through Delhi Metro for few minutes I got lost in the world of dreams. It was among the last series of metro running on the track before it stops for the day.  Train was originated from Hudda City centre in Gurgaon, a recently developed economic centre of NCR and was destined for Jahangirpuri, surrounding which working class people stay owing to relatively cheap residential area. So clearly most of the people were office goers or daily wage earners, some may be working in MNCs and others may be working in medium and small scale industries. All most everyone was exhausted to degree that a salient war was on to grab a seat. Though there was enough crowd but it was like pin drop silence. My civil services result would most probably be declared this week, so I was lost thinking about that. As usual I was praying to God suddenly I felt that why am I feeling so helpless, why I am so possessive about UPSC results...

The New Delhi turned into a fortress amid wide protests against rape and murder of a 23 yr medical girl. Many saw it as 'Rosa parks' moment of India and it was assumed that India is going to see a new dawn if not in everything then at least in issues related to women safety. In fact much was done on ground such as fast track courts, anti-rape ordinance etc. unlike previous times when lip service (platitudes) were considered enough for pacifying the anger of disgusted mass.  Some courts pronounced judgements involving incidents of similar nature in record time of 1-2 weeks. But today 4 months have passed no judgement has been given even by the lower court. I was very excited for today(yesterday-20th March) I was to visit the parliament and witness the session's proceeding. In fact, after entering the gate I bowed my head to pay a silent obeisance in the 'temple of democracy'. I had to undergo a series of security checks starting from the main gate where they asked me to deposit all the electronic possessions. From there I entered into lobby, where I could buy a glass of 'Pure' orange juice for Rs 10. I thought the security ordeal was complete but I was wrong it was just the beginning. (To remind you parliament has three sessions 1. Question hour 11am-12 noon; 2. Zero hour 12 noon - 1 pm; 3. Business hours 2pm-5pm;). From here I was frisked at 8 places before I could reach the public gallery.
