Nation has witnessed a historic moment, in fact
in the night of 8th Nov India had its tryst with the destiny.
But sad some persons are trying to fool the
nation and some arm chair intellectuals are professing the doomsday for the
historic leadership. They are living in a fool’s paradise. They are
disconnected individuals figh
ting their last battle to save their bastion. Let
me first talk about the goodness of this move:
1. Check on the Terror
Funding
2. Check on Counterfeit
Currency
3. Check on the Inflation
4. Check on the Spiralling
Real-estate Pricing
5. Check on the
illegal Political Funding
6. Check on the
Rent-seeking Bureaucracy
7. Check on the
Crime Money
8. Check on the
Bribe Giving
9. Dismantling of
the Parallel Economy
10. Cashless
Transaction
11. GST
Implementation
12. Interest Rate
reduction
13. Rupee

14. Unearthing of
Ideal Cash, Leading to Investment
15. Creating Central

16. Ease of Doing Business
17. Import Control
18. Higher Tax
Collection- More Spending in Social Sectors
Some people have overnight turned into Messiah
of poor people and they are talking
about the pain common man is suffering on following grounds:
1.
ATMs are
dysfunctional
2.
Banks are exchanging
just Rs. 4,000/-
3.
Maximum money
withdrawal from ATMs per day is Rs 2,000/-
4.
Unavailability of
Rs. 500/- notes
5.
Long ques of
people standing in the line for money
6.
Common man not
able to buys foods and other consumer goods
My
logic defies all this claims:
I
agree and well appreciate the troubles faced by common man but I know these are
not as horrendous as they are being portrayed. My understanding says that the
panic situation is more of reactionary in nature, (out of fear,
miscommunication and cynicism of vested interests) then crisis-oriented. My
understanding is premised on following facts:
1. Why people are forgetting that we are living
in the same country where in March’ 12 Planning commission have declared that anyone
with a daily consumption expenditure of Rs. 28.35 and Rs. 22.42 in urban and
rural areas respectively is above the poverty line i.e. at the national level,
anyone earning Rs. 672.8 monthly in the rural area and Rs. 859.6 monthly in the
urban area is above the poverty line. C Rangrajan Committee declared Urban
Poverty Line of Rs 1407 Per Month per Person and Rural poverty line Rs. 972/-
per Month Per Person. So how is the exchange of Rs. 4000/- and disbursement of
Rs 2000/- from ATM is problematic to ‘COMMON MAN’ in terms of insufficiency of
funds.
2. About ATMs being dysfunctional and delay in printing
of Rs 5,000/- notes: (First lot of 5 million Rs. 500 currency has already been dispatched
from Nashik Currency press). It was very important to maintain the secrecy of
this move, when there has been airtight secrecy there is so much of the murmur
and claims by opposition parties. So there was practical limitation in going
for all out preparation. The soul of this scheme was secrecy, which could not
have been breached.
3. Long ques of people standing in the line for
money: It is painful but I feel in our country this long que is not a very big
deal, reason being people in our country stand in row even for free JIO sim. In
this country people have to stand for water in big que even in metropolis.
Everyday people stand in que for booking tatkal tickets since 12 in the night
till 10-11 AM in the morning. Come on! People of this country are too strong to
be deterred by these spikes.
4. This is the same country in which 75-80 %
people are ready for an all-out war against the terrorism and terror sponsor
country Pakistan. Imagine the situation had there been a war against Pakistan,
what would had been the situation and how would have people reacted to war time
miseries. My dear friends Country today is facing more internal threats than
external ones. A fight against black money should be welcomed even at the cost
of short terms pain. Please find the number of people who sleep without food in
the night, please find the number of road deaths in the country everyday and
many other miseries which have been inflicted over us for last 70 years. We
just want the end to all this even at the cost of short term pains. (Remind you
at the time PM announced this measure I was having just Rs 350 in legal tenders and day after I got Rs
4,000/- exchanged, out of this Rs 3000 is still with me and trust me I am
living a usual life)
5. About ATMs: 70% of Indians are still living in
rural India who are just served by around 8-10% ATMs, so how are the masses affected
by dysfunctional ATM.
6. About the chaos: One can well imagine the level
efforts that go in organising a simple marriage in family, so little chaos here
and there in this case is obvious. The dust will settle down in sometime.
I
would just like to conclude by saying that the resilience of masses in India is
beyond the comprehension of arm chair intellectuals. A little trouble here and
there is worth taking for a ‘Better Tomorrow and Happier & More Prosper
India’.
My
dear countryman at the end I would like to wish to congratulate you for witnessing
the emergence of ‘India of Our Dreams’.
Your
Fellow Countryman
