I can count well with little bit of knowledge I have acquired in last 20 yrs, even those who don't know counting can easily say they don’t need to employ their fingers to count the benefits they have gained out of their caste affiliation. If you talk about the social stratification in the existing Indian society I belong to the so called highest caste i.e ‘Brahmins’. If I seldom sit and start thinking about the advantages of this association, I could find none. In fact at times I get embarrassed when I am being told or taught about the outrages committed by higher castes on the lower castes [ I carry the same lineage !!!!! ]..Believe me, at times I wish I could relieve myself from this affiliation but not everyone is lucky. And yes it is also an accepted truth that none of the caste today showcases a uniform social behaviour or professes a common occupation.
